The characters and story are mere narrative lubricant to get us from one digitally goosed sensory assault to the next.. A film without an artistic vision to match its commercial one.. 'Paul' is more a bagful of giggles. Rogen is a nonstop hoot, but it's the byplay between Frost and Pegg that roots the laughs in characters we care about..
